Looks like a storm is coming!

Terry called and was watching the weather channel and noted it was going to get bad here tonight. It is already cloudy and windy. The dogs are fine, and the cats are doing OK in the basement. I had to shut them in today, so the weather does not disrupt things down there with blowing wind and possible snow or rain. It seems too warm for snow, but that can change really fast!
I went for groceries today; wanting to have some food on hand if anyone comes out. I think John is coming tomorrow. Now I have to finish cleaning out the fridge in order to get the new groceries in. I already did the freezer and got all the frozen stuff put away. I am looking forward to Nicole and her babies coming soon for a nice visit! That will be a fun time for us! Caiah was asking her parents about her kittens that I have here for her. She has a good memory! I am glad they have not run away since we have been letting them go outside on nice days.

I will be taking Lily and Boomer in for shots this next week after I get them both washed and groomed. That will be a major project for me! I will be so glad when I finally get a grooming station set up down in the basement for them.

We will be doing a sheep shed soon, as soon as Terry gets some time off. He is checking on his vacation time this week, and when he finds out, we will rent a bobcat or some such thing and clear some land and get the logs for barn, as well as start our fence around the property. We have also got a plan for a veggie garden, and looking forward to getting the area prepared for that. He started up the tiller yesterday, but it is still to wet to till right now. He will be returning home via the lakes to see if our styrofoam is still there. Then we will get some of the kids to help us haul it home (IF it is still there)IF we can get the barn up in the next couple weeks, we can invest in a couple ewe lambs and a ram lamb to start our little flock. Also hoping to finish the chicken coop and yard so it will be ready for chicks when they come in. We hope to be on the road to self sufficiency within two years time.

This economy has put a hold on Terry's retiring this April. He was going to retire from Yellow and get a local job, but there are no local jobs now. And it looks like there will not be any in the near future. I am very disappointed, but happy at least we do have income. It just is not what we had planned. We will have to make due with his vacation time and get as much done as we can when he can take vacation.

Off to clean the fridge now and praising God we have money for food still!

National Animal Identification System, (NAIS)

National Animal
Identification System, (NAIS)

National Animal
Identification System that thousands of livestock
producers have opposed for close to a half dozen years, is still
being demanded by USDA, and USDA branches. Like a creeping fungal
spore in moves on with unrestrained funding. Why does this numbering
plot have a life without death? No economic facts, no logic, no legal
barrier stops this horrid scheme as it moves with perverted "cooperative
agreements" to number all farm livestock and farm properties.

Nearly 2000 years ago it was written in the Holy Bible that in
the last years of history a numbering system would be used so that
no person could buy or sell without an enforced number. Real ID
and NAIS perfectly fit the prophecy of Revelation 13. It is a battle of
the unjust against the just. Some would say it is only a coincidence, yet
others are certain a massive plan is in play to number all livestock and then
number all people. A federal plan to control
people like herds of cattle moving through the check out counter of life.

It is easy to oppose NAIS on purely non-Biblical reasons,
but equally easy to see the hand writing on the wall. Every livestock owner
should oppose NAIS. Every Christian should oppose NAIS. Every human
who consumes food should oppose NAIS. Every USDA employee should oppose NAIS.
Every veterinarian, every President, every Congressman and every Senator should
oppose NAIS.

Posters of the graphic below can be printed from www.naisStinks.com. The link for
other posters is http://www.naissucks.com/index.php?con=flyers.

Thank you for opposing NAIS and the distribution of this information.

Suburban is fixed... (I think)

Terry came home and has accomplished several things for me including doing our taxes, which cost us a ton this year! It was amazing how much it cost! But it is done for the year and not a worry on my mind anymore.

The dogs are doing great in this cold weather. They seem to actually enjoy being out in the cold.

John, Molly, Isaac and Jude were out for lunch. (well Jude really did not eat with us...) John helped Terry fix the Suburban. Isaac and the guys went hunting for rabbits with Isaac's pellet riffle. They came up empty. Then they left so Kristi and Molly could do their daily run.

Now we will need to finish our laundry and get some cat litter for Micah and Micaiah's cats Sterling and Yuck Yuck.

It is a very cold day... so much for Al Gore's global warming..

My Car died on the way home today.

I went to town to get groceries and some more manicotti for dinner at Kristi and Joshua's tomorrow, and on the way up the hill on Pat Daly Road, my Suburban died on me. The man in the truck behind me pulled me on up the hill and into my yard. But until Terry gets home, I am now "home bound" I will enjoy watching some TV and also work on my other stuff in line. I have a back seat full of groceries I need to unload from the Burb when it gets light tomorrow morning. My snowman (surprise from John's kids) was slowly melting away today. He has lost his head so far. The weather got very warm today. I have been rather sick with a cold, and head ache today. The dogs have been upset with something across the road most of the day. Not sure what they are seeing or hearing, but I could not see or hear it. Well I am off to watch some TV or maybe ply Marbles or Spider on here. TTYL

It is sooo very cold!

I am at Mark and Jordan's. Terry and Mark are hunting in Nebraska this week. It has been snowing/sleeting on and off (mostly on) for almost 24 hours. I just turned on the heater in my room, and will let it warm the room for a while before I turn in. Caedmon is already in bed It is interesting to hear the sleet on the roof and windows. Sounds different from rain or snow. I think the sound of the sleet makes it feel even colder. We got out for a while today, went to the 5 and dime in town, and then to the Coffee Shop for lunch. I must tell you, Caedmon is one CUTE little boy! Having fun here! I have learned to play Ink ball on this computer, and spent way too much time playing it.
Last week I was with Matthew and Chandra and the boys while they moved into their new home in Houston MO It is a very nice house, and a very nice congregation they are serving. I am excited for them. The boys have a huge bedroom, and each has his own walk in closet. That will be nice for them, and they also javascript:void(0)have a lot of places to hide for Hide and seek! I will go home again if the roads ever clear up.

Baby its cold outside!

It is 10 degrees and snowing here in Old Mines. Our electricity went off three times last night, and our water froze this morning. Terry worked all morning and into the afternoon getting it thawed.-
The dogs got bored on Tuesday, and tore up their cushion. Terry cleaned that up for me, and gave them a new cushion. I threatened to severely punish them if they tear up this one. Boomer is the one who tore it up. He is in so much trouble with me! They had to sleep last night without a cushion, so maybe they will appreciate it tonight. The kittens are doing great. They are getting to where I can actually stand nearby while they eat. I am thinking they will soon be gentle.
I got an email asking if I had any sheep for sale. I sure wish I did! Maybe by this next year that will happen. I am hopeful things will get going in 2010 for us.
I am so glad Terry was home to help me through this trying time! I remember back when I lived at the blue house in Cheyenne one cold February and only very young Kristi and Joshua were there to do chores with me. They had some rough mornings and nights back then. I am wondering what happened to Al Gore's global warming... it sure is not warming here in Missouri
